KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 - Kuala Terengganu is identified among the 10 most delightful areas in Malaysia, more than 90 per cent according to the National Happiness Index 2018. Among others include local authorities in Petaling Jaya, Manjung, Batu Gajah, Bentong, Jasin, Jeli, Segamat, Padang Terap and Bandar Baharu. The matter was announced by the Federal Territories Minister, Khalid Abdul Samad based on the World Happening Report 2019 (WHR 2019).
The state government will evaluate the production of Diesel oil commercially by using waste from plastic materials.
Chairman of State Local Government, Housing, Health and Environment Committee, Dr. Alias Razak said, among the advantages of this technology, it will reduce the level of environmental pollution from 100 percent to 10 percent in the operating area. "The costs incurred by the government for the maintenance and disposal of garbage can also be indirectly reduced if such innovations are in a convenient and safe way," he said. He was speaking at a press conference when he attended the "Plastic to Fuel Project Site" visit at the Syngas factory, Gong Badak, today.
Dr. Alias described the innovation to have a bright prospect in the market as demand from highway users could produce biomass or renewable energy. "The government is poised to work together to advance this industry which will indirectly create employment opportunities for locals. "In addition, it also has a positive impact on existing landfill sites," he said.
Meanwhile, Syngas Company General Manager, Ahmad Zaim Bin Mohamad Adan said that built technology could produce 200 liters of diesel in just an hour. "The RM6 Million machine is a local build and capable of producing 5,000 liters of fuel at a time," he said.
