KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 - Kuala Terengganu is identified among the 10 most delightful areas in Malaysia, more than 90 per cent according to the National Happiness Index 2018.  Among others include local authorities in Petaling Jaya, Manjung, Batu Gajah, Bentong, Jasin, Jeli, Segamat, Padang Terap and Bandar Baharu. The matter was announced by the Federal Territories Minister, Khalid Abdul Samad based on the World Happening Report 2019 (WHR 2019).

 KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 - Kuala Terengganu is identified among the 10 most delightful areas in Malaysia, more than 90 per cent according to the National Happiness Index 2018. 

 Among others include local authorities in Petaling Jaya, Manjung, Batu Gajah, Bentong, Jasin, Jeli, Segamat, Padang Terap and Bandar Baharu. The matter was announced by the Federal Territories Minister, Khalid Abdul Samad based on the World Happening Report 2019 (WHR 2019). 


  He said the data was based on the Malaysia Rural Access Network (MURNInets) program, and based on several factors. 

 "This includes a clean environment and effective communication to resolve security and harassment issues. "Another factor is the close collaboration between neighbors, communities and waste management and efficient solid waste," he said. 

 On the same note, for record, Malaysia is the 80th happiest country in the world. However, this was a big fall from 35th place in the previous year. Position based on surveys conducted in 2018, also witnessed Thailand and the Philippines over Malaysia. 

 Earlier, in WHR 2018, Malaysia was the second highest ranking country in Southeast Asia, after Singapore. Singapore, the 34th in WHR 2019, maintains its top billing in Southeast Asia, while Thailand and the Philippines rose to 52 and 69 respectively. 

Meanwhile, Myanmar is the lowest country in Southeast Asia, ranked 131th out of 156 countries in the report, the annual publication of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
