KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 - Kuala Terengganu is identified among the 10 most delightful areas in Malaysia, more than 90 per cent according to the National Happiness Index 2018. Among others include local authorities in Petaling Jaya, Manjung, Batu Gajah, Bentong, Jasin, Jeli, Segamat, Padang Terap and Bandar Baharu. The matter was announced by the Federal Territories Minister, Khalid Abdul Samad based on the World Happening Report 2019 (WHR 2019).

KUALA TERENGGANU, 29 January - A world-class search and rescue center known as the Aeronautical Rescue Sub Center at Sultan Mahmud Airport is expected to be ready and able to operate in February.
Chairman of the State Infrastructure, Public Utilities, Utilities and Green Technology Committee, Dr Mamad Puteh said the newly formed center of the Federal Government was the only world-class center in the East Coast.
Obviously, the center will work to find and rescue in the event of any sea and air accident in the surrounding states such as Pahang and Kelantan.
"The newly formed Aeronautical rescue, which we are the only location (office) here (Terengganu).
"The initial response is related to the aeronautical rescue if there are any accidents around here, either from Kelantan or Pahang as soon as possible," he said.
He, who is also Kuala Berang State Assemblyman (ADUN) said this at a press conference after a working visit to Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Terenganu yesterday.
Also present at the visit was State Chairman of Tourism, Culture and Information Committee, Ariffin Deraman, customs and immigration officers and airline representatives.
The center, located next to the Sultan Mahmud Airport, will be complete and start operations next month.
With the world-class search and rescue center, it will certainly boost the development and tourism industry in the state of Terengganu.
Earlier he was briefed and brought to visit around the main area at Sultan Mahmud Airport formerly known as Telaga Batin Airport.
